. Is there a God? Before you can offer any meaningful answers to these questions, or have a reasonably meaningful discussion about them, you need to define what you mean when you say, "God." Traditional religions perceive God as a superhuman being who lives in a place above the clouds called heaven. According to this belief, God can magically alter the laws of the universe at His whim and will do so for those who follow His orders and worship Him correctly. The traditional religions teach their followers that the only alternative to a God in the sky is atheism (no God at all). This completely ignores the third and most realistic theory about God -- God as the sum-total of all that is. Please see the references in the section below: What Is a Human Being? . |

. Atheism is the belief that 1) There is no such thing as the God described by Christianity. 2) A human is his or her physical body which has magically acquired consciousness. 3) This one life is all there is. 4) At death, the human ceases to exist. 5) The reincarnation alternative is given zero consideration. There is no evidence to support this belief. This belief can only be accepted by a Leap of Faith. ' Reincarnation is the belief that 1) Physical matter is only a very small part of reality. 2) Life does not begin at conception, or at birth, or anywhere else, and life does not end at death. 3) Humans are not physical bodies. 4) Humans are eternal, non-physical, divine beings who always were and always will be. 5) Each and every human is an eternal being temporarily inhabiting a physical body. There is considerable circumstantial evidence to support this belief. The latest scientific evidence supports this belief.
