The answer is, "One Bite at a Time."

Well, we really don't eat elephants.  This book title was chosen because it represents symbolically how you actually conduct your life, "One step at a time."   That is one of the main themes you will hear throughout the book.   And that is how this work is being presented to you.

What you have in front of you is the essence of How to Eat an Elephant® -- a summary -- an overview.   All the essential pieces are here.   They're just not explained in great detail.   This section sets the stage and gives you an an introduction into what's possible for you to be, do, have, express, and experience.  In the coming months, the remaining portions of book will be posted on this website and will also be available to you completely free.

"Why is it free?" you ask.    Because as a personal success coach, I have much more to offer.  When you find out how valuable this portion of the book is, you’ll tell your friends and some of you will come back asking for more.   Some of you will hire my coaching services and, in the process, everybody wins.

Read this Book "One Bite at a Time."

This book is a three-dimensional interactive network of ideas, principles, concepts, techniques, practices, etc.  You can begin almost anywhere because, in  one way or another, everything is related to everything else.   Although some of the ideas and concepts may seem to have just arrived from left field, over time, the interactive relationships among the various sections will become obvious.

It's designed to be read a piece at a time.  The more pieces you read the greater will be your overall understanding of how life works.  When you re-read a section that you read sometime ago, you'll probably find things you simply didn't see at the previous reading.

1)   Setting the Context:

1.1   Your personal power:

Your power of intentional creation is directly proportional to your ability to persistently and consistently visualize, verbalize, and then feel and focus on what you choose, precisely what you choose,  and only what you choose.

1.2   Are you living your ideal life, right now, today?

Take a moment and think about your home, your personal relationships, your career, your health, your finances, or anything else that you consider important in your life.   Are any of these areas are less than your ideal?   If so, you might consider making some simple, positive adjustments in your thoughts, attitudes, beliefs, and behaviors.   You might also consider adding some new techniques, and developing a few new habit patterns.

1.3   Your power to change:

Whether you are intending to manifest a house or a new hair style;  a new lover or a tooth brush; a new refrigerator or a million dollars; the same basic rules and principles apply.   If you do not apply these principles to your life, you will never reach your goal, no matter how hard you work.

In every waking moment, we create and/or alter the future of our personal lives by our thoughts, our visualizations, and our intentions; by our emotions, our feelings, and our beliefs; by our attitudes, our expectations, and by what we will (and will not) allow ourselves to experience, by our spoken words, and by our physical actions.

In every waking moment every single one of us is creating and/or altering our future.  Unless we use our thoughts, emotions, etc. intentionally, we use them unconsciously and by default.   If you choose to create intentionally, the process described below will show you how to do so;  and thus, you can bring much more joy and personal freedom into your life.

Consciously and intentionally creating new, positive states of being and ways of living is what this book and my coaching services are all about.

If you so choose, you can consciously, and intentionally create new, positive, ways of living in any or all of the above-mentioned areas.    Remember, only you can create or change your life.   I can show you how, but, in your life,  you must make the changes for yourself.   

1.4   Your Source of Power:

Your source of power is in the feelings you generate.  The experiences you manifest come not from your actions themselves, but rather  from the feelings and thoughts you have while you are acting.   If your feelings are "poor me" and your thought are,  "look what I don't have,"  then you're telling the universe, "Bring me more wanting and more physical  reasons to feel sorry for myself."   On the other hand. if you're feeling good about yourself and reaching to your goal with joyous expectancy, then your goal is heading your way.

1.5   Focus only on what you choose to experience.

If you think about what repulses you with the intent of fighting it, you actually feed it your universal creative energy, which gives it power and invites more of it into your reality.   So you are encouraged to persistently and consistently visualize, verbalize, and then feel what you do choose,  precisely what you choose,  and only what you choose.   

But that's not license to ignore the what's already physically manifested in your life.  Whatever you must deal with, do so and move on.   Just avoid dwelling on what's wrong.

1.6   Fill your own cup first:

The best thing you can do for the poor is to not be one of them.   Within the context of being positive or neutral in your effect upon others, fill your own cup first.   Create for yourself and when those around you observe your success, many will be inspired to do something similar for themselves.   As your mastery manifests, you become a guide and a role model for others to emulate.  And you put yourself in a position of having the capacity to be of service to those around you.

Focus on thoughts such as  “What can I do for myself?”  and then, based on those thoughts,  take actions that are either positive or neutral in their long-term  effect on yourself and on others.   As a result, you  both fill your own cup  and raise the vibration of the planet.

Some who cling desperately to antiquated, obsolete beliefs consider this attitude to be selfish.   Well, the next time you see a homeless person on the street, ask him for some money and see what response you get.  Or perhaps you might go into a hospital and find someone dying of a painful disease and ask him or her to cheer you up.   You have but to open your eyes for a moment to see the absurdity of ignoring your own interests.   Fill your own cup first.  Once your cup is full, you will be in a position to assist others.

1.7   You are the final judge as to what 
          is right for you:

Please avoid blindly accepting anything you see, hear or read, (here or elsewhere)  simply because someone says so -- regardless of their title, position, reputation, etc.  On the other hand, it is equally foolish to reject someone else’s point of view simply because it does not substantiate your own opinions, fixed impressions, and beliefs about reality.  Remember, reality is whatever reality is regardless of what you or I  believe it to be.

Look for yourself at the evidence here and elsewhere.   Accept what fits for you right now and then trash the rest.   If it is truth, if it is meant for you and you've just trashed it, that's OK.   It will come around again.   On the other hand, if the same message has come to you several times from several sources, you'd probably do well to listen this time.

This document contains the best working hypothesis that this author has been able to put together based on 25 years of study.   Do with it as you will.   If the process works for you, if it doesn’t work for you, if something is wrong, if something is missing, I would like to be informed.  (Contact Robin)

1.8   The Mystery of "God"

There are only two things we can say with any degree of certainty about whatever it is (or isn't) that we refer to as "God,"  first, it has a profound affect upon us, and, second, what we don't know far exceeds what we do know.   

In the common and traditional, western, Christian image, God is considered to a vindictive, angry, fickle anthropomorphic (super human) being who with what seems like arbitrary unpredictability, grants great good fortune to some, great tragedy to others, and pretty much ignore everyone else, and does so for reasons that completely escape human understanding.

As part of this intentional creation process and at least as a temporary working hypothesis, I suggest you suspend the above belief about whatever you it is that you call "God."   Acknowledge that humans simply don't know the true nature of the source of all that is and that at the present time, we have no way of finding out.   (Please see the question, "Do you believe in God?"  on the Frequently asked questions page.)

1.9   These are the assumptions 
          upon which I base my facts:

Given that we live in an unprovable mystery regarding what our true nature actually is, we are left with  speculation, conjecture, and guesswork and what circumstantial evidence points to.

The universe appears to be in held together by a series of universal laws that we all must abide by or violate at our own peril.   The evidence points to punishment or reward being quite predictable, and  arriving a result of our own thoughts, feelings,  words, and actions.  As a working hypotheses, I invite you to examine the three basic fundamental beliefs (assumptions) listed below.   Your acceptance of them (at least as a temporarily working hypothesis) is required for this intentional creation process to be of value to you.

First:   Trust that there is an unseen aspect of yourself   (an Inner-Self, a God-Self)   that is as real as your earthly, physical  body.

Second:   Acknowledge and accept that you and you alone are responsible for the creation of your personal, life experiences.   Others obviously co-create with you,  others influence your creations, there are group-created experiences the many of us share, and you must function in the context of living in a human body on planet Earth.  Nonetheless, you are still the only one who actually creates in your own personal reality.   Those who blame others and live in victim consciousness will have little success this program.

Third:   Acknowledge that, within the context of human life on planet Earth, a combination of our thoughts, our attitudes, our beliefs, and our feelings is the first cause of what each of us experiences in our own personal reality.   We empower our thought by our emotions, and our thoughts manifest within the context of what we expect, and what we will (and will not) allow ourselves to experience.  For an overview of "The Three Universal Laws," go to the web page:  http://www.truth101.org/vs-creating-by-thought.html    

If you do not accept the above three assumptions, at least as a temporary, working hypothesis to be tested in your own life, then you needn't bother reading any further.

1.10   Clearly state your intention.

The lack of a clearly stated intention is one of the three main reasons why many people fail at intentional creating.  They have a vague idea of what they want but fail to be specific.  For example, if a person says they want more money, that doesn't work.  Finding a penny on the street fulfills the literal interpretation of that statement.  

In your mind, create a clear picture of:    (what you choose)    (your goal)   (the task at hand)   (your target action).   Ask yourself,  “What is it that I now choose to be, to do, to have, to express, or to experience that is a reflection of who I am?”   Visualize that picture as clearly as you can.   Using positive, personal, present tense language, describe and define the contents of that picture.   Be literal in your description and in your explanation.  Write out your intention.  Read it.  ask yourself, "Is this exactly what I want?"  If not, change it until it expresses as clearly as possible exactly what you want.

Visualize and verbalize the final result, exactly as you choose it to be!   Why?   Because “The Universe” is quite literal.   What you will receive is a blend of what you visualize, think, speak, believe, expect, and feel.   In this process, you are not making a request.   You are not asking anyone for anything. not asking anyone for anything.  

1.11   You Are "The Creator"

There are two reasons why you are not asking.  First, because the very act of asking is a declaration that you do not have what you are asking for.  You are declaring a separation between yourself and what you intend.  Second you are not asking someone else (God) to create it for you.  You are the creator.   You have complete access to the creative mechanism that directs the universal divine energy into physical manifestation.  Remember the words of Jesus, "Anything I can do, you can do and more."  If you are in even the slightest doubt about your creative position in the universe or your creative capacity, please stop reading and go to the sections called "The Three Universal Laws of Creation."  On our sister website:  http://www.truth101.org.   The exact address is  http://www.truth101.org/vs-victim-consciusness.html.  

If you speak from wanting, the universe will give you more wanting,  so, from a space of gratitude, speak a declaration of truth.   (“I am being, doing, having, expressing, experiencing _______.”)   Always speak in declarations about having the results you choose, because the universe gives you exactly what you declare.  For example, according to the Christian Bible, Jesus never asked for anything, he merely said thank you.

1.12   You are intentionally creating.

When you use this process, you will be intentionally generating thought-action meant to create a specific result.   Speak slowly, with conviction, and with confidence.   Do this with power!   Speak a positive declaration of what is so.   Speak it exactly as you have chosen it to be.   Speak as though your declaration were already a physical reality.   Hold an attitude of complete faith that it is so.   Hold an attitude of gratitude for having received it.   Know that it is so because, as an intentional creator, you have just spoken it into existence.

Speak your intentions out loud to your Inner Self.*   Inform your guides as to what you desire, require, and choose.   Speak as if you are explaining your creations to a friend who is standing in the same room with you.   Speak as if your guides just walked in and previously knew nothing of your project.

Focus on only one topic at a time.   Speak clearly, specifically, and in detail.   If you are part of a group, all of you speak out loud and in unison.   Give only the information regarding the targeted, end results.**   Be clear, concise, consistent, and persistent.   Feel the feelings as if what you have chosen is already completed.   Believe it,  intend it,  expect it ***   and allow it  --   and it is yours.    Then let it go.   Turn it over to the universe.   Allow time for your intention to manifest.

*      The inner self is referred to in this text as “Your Personal Guides."  You man also think of this as praying to God.

**    Avoid giving instructions on how to accomplish the task.

***  Avoid expecting in the sense that it is not here yet.   Instead, expect it in the sense of allowing time for your creation to take physical form.

1.13   Overcoming the Ten Major  Reasons
     Why Affirmations Don't work:

a)   The Belief in Victim-hood -- someone or something else is in control of your life -- a good life is impossible -- misery is inevitable -- it can't be any other way -- life sucks and then you die.

If the above statement comes even remotely close to describing your life, you have two choices -- change your beliefs or live the remainder of your life in misery.

Most people believe that that the external world comes first and what they experience in the physical world is the sum total of reality.   Most people believe that what they experience is the way things are, that they have little or no control of their circumstances or experiences.   They believe that to change something one must start by making changes in the external world.

The Alternative:

Realize that you are actually experiencing a manifestation of what you believe.   Your experience is a product of your thoughts, attitudes, emotions, beliefs, and expectations.   Thought always precede experience.   We have heard that for centuries.  (For example, "According to your faith, so be it onto you.")   Change your thoughts, attitudes, emotions, beliefs, and expectations and your life will change.

b)   Low Self Esteem and Lack of Confidence in One's Self.

Low self image, a lack of self worth, and belief in guilt have been programmed into most humans since birth.  If you believe that you are incompetent, that you are unworthy, that you were born in sin, that you are innately evil, and that every time you miss the mark, you should be punished, how can you possibly experience any joy and freedom in your life.

The Alternative:

Realize that there is no one greater than you.  There is no one lesser, either.  Do the following two statements sound familiar?   If not, study them intently.

"You are a child of The Universe.  Just like the stars the birds and the trees, you have a right to be."

"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness."   

You are not subject of a king or beholding to a government for your rights.  They are innately yours simply by being born.  For example, the Bill of Rights in the United states Constitution does not grant you anything.  In spite of what the dominator/manipulators tell you, the original thirteen amendments were designed to be and are restrictions on the government activity.   They were designed to prevent "legal" tyranny.   Our founding fathers were human like the rest of us and, Unfortunately, they forgot to include a few critical restrictions, but that's another story for another time.

c)   Not understanding the creative process.

Most people have never even heard of "The Three Universal Laws of Creation."  If you don't know the rules of the game how can you possibly play with any degree of success.

d)   Not being clear and specific on what is desired / required / intended

f)   Focusing on the opposite of what they desire.

g)   Buying to false belief package programmed into you by 
     the society in which you were born and raised.

The three religious assumptions

h)   Associating with people with negative attitudes, 
     people with low self esteem, 
     those who will ridicule you and your affirmation process:

i)   Believing that You Should to be Punished for Your Mistakes:

Sin, guilt, and punishment are at the core of a horrendous, negative, downward spiral.  It starts with a belief that it's not OK to miss the mark (to make a mistake) -- that missing the mark  is  "wrong." -- and when you do something wrong, you should be punished.   

This belief invites the mind to focus is on what isn't working.  The focus is on the past.   The focus is on blame.   The focus is on guilt  in a context that guilt should be punished.  Fear of being punished tells the universe to bring more punishment.   It also distracts attention from the goal which invites the distracted mind to generate more mistakes and this starts the cycle all over again.

The Alternative:

Begin by realizing that the most successful people are those who have made the most mistakes.  Missing the mark, making a mistake and getting something other than what we desired is a normal part of life.  It's the way we learn and become more clear on what we do want.  A mistake is simply a message about how to make a mid-course correction and shift our thoughts, beliefs, attitudes, words, and/or actions and re-direct them with renewed commitment and confidence toward our goal.

There is within each of us a natural correction mechanism that says, "Don't do that again.  Here's why.  First, it didn't get you where I wanted to go, second, it harmed you or someone else, or third, it harmed the ecosystem which supports your life.   "Sin," which is the original meaning of "missing the mark" has been used by the dominator-manipulators for centuries as a tool for political and economic control.   Flush sin, guilt, and punishment down the toilet where they belong.  

j)   Holding conflicting beliefs:

The classic and probably the most universal of all conflicting belief comes directly out of the Christian Bible.  Approximately two billion people believe that the Christian Bible is the word of God and is the truth.  How many of those same people believe the following words from that book spoken by Jesus, "Anything I can do, you can do and more."

Our personal lives are filled with similar, less obvious, conflicting beliefs.  Symbolically speaking, if you have thirty seven horses pulling you north and thirty eight pulling you south, you may may give up long before you make any significant southward movement.

The Alternative:

Of the above ten major reason why our lives aren't working, holding conflicting beliefs is probably the most difficult of all to overcome.  This topic has a complete section devoted to it.  Unfortunately that section is not yet available on this web site.

In a computer, you can have a thousand things exactly right and only one thing wrong and the computer won't work.  Affirmation process is similar in that if you have an error is any one of the ten major components mentioned above, your affirmations won't work.  

1.14   Follow the road map:

Follow the steps below with the same confidence that you would follow a road map.   Remember, the Universe is quite literal in bringing you the manifestation of your thoughts, visualizations, feelings, words and actions.   If you don’t visualize, verbalize, feel the related feelings and then take appropriate action regarding what you choose, you won’t get it.   If you do, you will.   It’s really that simple.   It just takes practice to install a few new habits.  

Be clear and concise.   Be consistent, persistent and insistent.   Always flow with what feels right in your heart.   If what you get is not what you thought you were creating,  say “No thank you.   This is what I choose.”   Re-state your intention more clearly and then visualize and describe it exactly as you choose it to be.  

Thousands of others have successfully managed to manifest their visions and dreams.   Now it’s your turn.  

The process described below can be used by one individual or by several individuals collectively.   The process is much more powerful when done by two or more together.
