. Page Summary We like to think of ourselves as free, but we are actually at the effect of our thoughts, our beliefs, and our attitudes. We are a product of biological nature and of our childhood conditioning, etc. . |

. Here's the Basics: The overwhelming circumstantial evidence indicates that we are non-physical, energy beings temporarily living in physical bodies. Once we enter into a physical body, we intentionally and temporarily forget who and what we are. We do this for the purpose of experiencing life as a human being in physical reality. When we enter Earth-life, we also accept several additional limits to our freedom. 1) We are confined to life in a physical body on the surface of planet Earth. Human bodies do what they do and we are obliged to take care of the body and go along with its demands upon us. 2) We are born into a pre-existing social culture which installs its survival skills into our minds. Of particular significance is the religious conditioning we receive. Unless and until we consciously and intentionally break out of our culturally created belief box, we are at the effect of the conditioning it installed in our minds. 3) Our personal experiences condition our minds. Of particular significance are the experiences that we have prior to the age of seven and the experiences we have after age seven that trigger strong emotions within us. Unless and until we consciously and intentionally examine and change the conditioning we have as a result of those experiences, we are at the effect of that conditioning. 4) Our education, our training, the knowledge we have also controls our responses in life. For example, if you do not know that a certain option exists, then you are not free to choose that option. 5) The company you keep also significantly alters your behavior options. Humans tend to go along with those who dominate the families, clubs, churches, and social circles they participate in. 6) The social and political structure of the country you live in control your options. For example, a women's choices are significantly different in America than they are in countries dominated Islam. Compare life in the United States with life in Afghanistan. 7) The technology of the age you live in controls your options. For example, compare life now to what it was in your great grandfather's time. Imagine life without cars, television, telephones, computers, the internet, or indoor plumbing. 8) The infrastructure of the country you live in influences and in many ways controls your life. Imagine living in a country where paved roads, water, sewer and electrical systems, etc. simply didn't exist or where they were very crude. 9) The economic structure you live in dictates your options. Life under the economic Disneyland policies of George Bush and company are very different from what I knew as a child of the 1950's and 60's. A personal example: In graduate school in 1966, I received a stipend of $220 per month. With $22o as my only income, I lives in a five-room apartment, had a new car, plenty of food, and enough money to have a reasonably active social life. All of these factors affect or behavior and limit our options. And I'm sure there are additional factors that are not in the above list. |

How the Universe works: The Universal laws No physical matter. Everything is energy.
Basic Personality Traits: ***1 Each one of us has the universal personality traits listed below and then several more unique to us as an individuals. Here are some of the basics that I have observed: The Inner Child loving and playful fearful and inadequate The Sexual Driver: Loving, playful, joyous and free Compulsive, possessive, and controlled Selling Yourself (The non-sexual Prostitute) What part of ourselves are we willing to give up in order to survive and in order to get what we believe we want? The Victim It's impossible, It's inevitable. It can't be any other way. If only... So and so did this to me. The Saboteur Life is not an accident. We set ourselves up for those things we experience. The Judge We have opinions about almost everything, and most of us are quick to draw conclusions about others. Ref: Projection
Caroline Myss offers an in-depth treatment of the inner child, the prostitute, the victim, and the saboteur in her book and her tape lecture series titled: Anatomy of the Spirit. For a more complete understanding of this concept and these attributes, we suggest you check the Internet for her books and tapes . . |
